Laurie Johnson, MA, LIMHP, LMHC, LPC, NCC
EMDRIA Certified Therapist™ | EMDRIA Approved Consultant™
Trauma can affect the way we experience ourselves, our relationships, and the world around us. It can leave us feeling disconnected from ourselves and others — as if something stands between us and the life, connection, and belonging we want.
Sometimes trauma looks like PTSD, depression, anxiety, or anger. It can also look like people-pleasing, unfulfilling relationships, low self-worth, difficulty setting boundaries, or simply feeling stuck.
I am passionate about helping people understand and heal from the experiences that have shaped them. My approach is trauma-informed, attachment-focused, and relational. I integrate EMDR and other evidence-based approaches to help clients process painful experiences, develop healthier patterns, and build stronger connections with themselves and others. Therapy with me is collaborative, honest, and grounded in the safety of a healthy therapeutic relationship.
I earned my Master of Arts in Counseling from Crown College and am licensed to practice in both Nebraska and Iowa. I am a National Certified Counselor (NCC), an EMDRIA Certified Therapist™, and an EMDRIA Approved Consultant™, providing EMDR therapy to clients and consultation to clinicians seeking to deepen their EMDR practice.
I am a Christ-follower who is also a mental health counselor. My faith teaches me that all people have unconditional worth and deserve love, acceptance, honesty, freedom, and wholeness. While my faith holds me accountable to this standard, I never impose my beliefs on others and enjoy working with clients from diverse backgrounds, beliefs, and worldviews.
